products to the world!Summary:We are looking for a strategic and
experienced Head of Tax to lead our global tax operations. The Head
of Tax will oversee all aspects of GameStop's global tax strategy,
planning, direct tax compliance, indirect tax compliance, and tax
provision. The Head of Tax will collaborate with senior leadership
to develop strategies that maximize profitability and minimize
risk, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax regulations.This
position sits onsite in Grapevine, TX 5 days a week.
- Manage and review corporate consolidated federal, international
and multi-state and local income tax compliance, including
estimated and extensions income tax payments.
- Manage and review the quarterly and annual tax provision
calculations and related footnote disclosures.
- Review international income tax returns and corresponding
workpapers, including Forms 5471, 8858, 1118, Subpart F, GILTI,
PTEP accounts, and foreign tax credit calculations.
- Manage and review the preparation of foreign bank account
reporting ("FBAR") on FinCEN Form 114.
- Manage and supervise the outsourced indirect compliance tax
functions, such as sales tax, property tax, unclaimed property,
Canadian GST/HST and value added tax ("VAT").
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax efficient
cash repatriation strategies.
- Coordinate and review global transfer pricing documentation
including annual requirements, master file, local files, country by
country reporting, and analysis of new transactions.
- Assist with the correspondence and management of foreign tax
audits and the international tax aspects of US federal and state
tax audits.
- Prepare and review correspondence relating to various tax
issues including Sales Tax audits, County Appraisal jurisdictions,
State Unclaimed Property departments and other miscellaneous tax
notices.
- Assist with managing jurisdictional audits; including direct
interaction with auditors and providing guidance to department
staff.
- Analyze income and sales tax reserves, including related
interest and penalties, at least quarterly. Update documentation as
necessary.
- Reconcile tax payments to ensure accuracy and proper allocation
to internal accounts.
- Assist with the development, coordination, and implementation
of federal, international and state tax planning strategies while
assessing the associated costs and risks.
- Research, analyze, interpret, document, and apply domestic tax
issues.
- Coordinate tax system maintenance, including jurisdictional
setups, product taxability, use tax allocations, tax matrices,
system updates, and customer resale and exemption
certificates.
- Assist with technical analyses to determine where the Company
should register for sales tax as we enter new states.
- Monitor tax regulations, and assist with the ongoing analysis
of tax positions to identify and address potential tax burdens and
risks.
- Prepare and/or make presentations on tax technical topics.
- Advise the Principal Financial and Accounting Officer about tax
issues related to strategic business decisions.
- Identify areas of improvement for the department, including but
not limited to efficiency initiatives, department and branch
training, system enhancements, compliance accuracy, and mitigating
audit exposure related to areas of Indirect Tax
Responsibility.
- Continuously pursue professional education, updates, best
practice information, professional publications, and mentoring
relationships to remain abreast of tax law developments that will
impact the organization.
- Manage relationships throughout the organization in a manner
acceptable to others and to the organization; adhere consistently

- Bachelor's degree with an accredited program accounting,
finance, or a related quantitative business field required.
- Minimum 10 years in tax with a large public accounting firm or
equivalent experience in a corporate environment; experience in a
retail business preferred but not required.
- CPA required.
- Must be willing to work some weekends and evenings as required
to meet reporting deadlines.
- Expert quantitative analysis skills, including the ability to
interpret, analyze, organize, and report financial data.
- Ability to meet multiple, potentially overlapping, deadlines
and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization,
including management, co-workers and stores.
