JPS educates in tandem with the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Texas Christian University Medical School.For more information, visit .Job Description:The Psychiatric Emergency Center is located on the 10th floor of John Peter Smith Hospital's main building and is the only Psychiatric Emergency Center in Tarrant County. A highly skilled team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers and support personnel provide 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week services for people in mental health crisis, both voluntary and involuntary services. People can receive triage, evaluation, observation and admission services.The Psychiatric Emergency Center focuses on all individuals that present for evaluation. The multidisciplinary team assesses the person and their situation to coordinate care for the best possible treatment plan. Primarily adult patients, with also some adolescents.Job Summary:Psychiatric TriagePsychiatric EvaluationShort term interventions including observation, monitoring and stabilization of acute crisisReferral services that meet the needs of the individual personEvaluation for admission to an Acute Inpatient UnitsSchedule:Full Time - 12 hour shifts (8:00 - 8:00). Must be flexible to work days/night/weekendsQualifications:Required Education and Experience:--- Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine.--- Residency and/or Fellowship training within specialty.Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:--- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas.--- Board Certification or Board Eligible.Preferred Education and Experience:Previous experience working in a PEC as a student or faculty member preferred, but not requiredLocation Address: 1500 S.
