Cook Children's records approximately one million patient encounters each year through its medical center, specialty and primary care offices, neighborhood clinics, outpatient settings and home health visits. • Joining a well-established Department of Genetics currently staffed by 8 clinical geneticists,2metabolic geneticist, board-certified genetic counselors, case managers, metabolic dietitian, and metabolic nurses.
• Broad pediatric sub-specialty platform with 35 Departments represented and 40 outpatient primary care clinics in the Cook Children's network, providing partnership opportunities for genetics program development in other specialty areas.
• Close involvement with the Texas newborn screening program.
• Research and teaching interests can be supported, if desired. Qualifications:--- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required.--- American Heart Association BLS and PALS.--- Unrestricted Texas Medical license (must obtain prior to start date).--- Must have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Medical Association (AMA) approved residency for pediatrics.--- Board certified/Board Eligible in medical or medical biochemical genetics.
